About

Engaging legal counsel shouldn’t be intimidating.
We're here to help.

SullivanLaw was founded with a simple mandate: To provide smart, candid, appropriate and thoughtful legal services that help our clients get the results that best meet their needs.

Our approach often means avoiding court in favour of negotiated resolutions to problems. But when a negotiated agreement is not possible, we do not hesitate to argue our clients’ position in court.

"In any case, keep cool. Have unlimited patience. Never corner an opponent, and always assist him to save his face. Put yourself in his shoes—so as to see things through his eyes. Avoid self-righteousness like the devil—nothing is so self-blinding."
- Basil Henry Liddell Hart

Timothy N. Sullivan, principal

Timothy Sullivan has been practicing law since his call to the Bar in 2002.

He has argued cases in Toronto, Timmins, Windsor, Cornwall, Belleville, Brockville, Milton, St. Thomas, Kingston, Perth and L’Orignal as well as in Ottawa. He has prepared submissions for the Supreme Court of Canada and has presented cases to the Ontario Divisional Court, the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Landlord and Tenant Tribunal, the Ontario Municipal Board and the board of education in Ottawa.

He graduated from the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law and from the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University.

“My goal as a lawyer is to ensure my clients have the information and the counsel they need to achieve the outcomes they want without huge fees or long delays. And while most people wouldn’t say that engaging a lawyer was ‘fun’, we try to ensure that at least they can say “that wasn’t as bad as I thought – and it all worked out in the end.”

Sarah G. Mizrahi, associate

Sarah completed her Licentiate in Law (LL.L) and Juris Doctor (J.D.) at the University of Ottawa, and joined the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2016. She grew up in Ottawa and is fully bilingual in French and English. She practices Civil Litigation and Family Law.

Clients like working with Sarah because of her demonstrated commitment to understanding the impact of legal challenges on her clients’ wellbeing, and her ability to guide them through the often overwhelming legal process.

“Any legal action is made easier and more effective for clients when, through clear and concise communication, we’re able to help them understand the process. I want my clients to be full participants in any initiatives we take – because I know that’s how we’ll arrive at the best outcomes.”
